What We Know About the Caesars Entertainment Cyberattack?
The Caesars Entertainment cyberattack was only recently announced, and it hasn’t yet been confirmed by the company. However, various news reports provide some important information on the incident. According to these sources, Caesars Entertainment recently paid tens of millions of dollars to hackers who broke into Caesars computer network and threatened to release data stored on the company’s computer network. Current estimates suggest that the cyberattack began as early as August 27, 2023.
According to those who claim to have knowledge of the incident, the group behind the Caesars cyberattack is known as Scattered Spider or UNC 3944.
While it hasn’t been confirmed, based on the description of the incident, it appears that hackers employed a ransomware attack.
